As the Texas Longhorns prepare for their first Elite Eight game since 2008, they’re going to have to finish preparing without one of their key players.
According to Stadium basketball insider Jeff Goodman, Texas forward Dylan Disu has been ruled out for the game with a bone bruise in his left foot. Disu has been invaluable to the Longhorns in the NCAA Tournament, putting up some of his best numbers of the entire season during the month of March.
Disu has averaged 8.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists throughout the season, but has really come on since the Tournament began. On the first weekend alone he had 17 points against Colgate and a season-high 28 points in the Longhorns’ win over Penn State.
Disu’s 46 blocks this season have led the team. His 66.5-percent conversion rate from inside the paint leads the Longhorns as well.

Texas are favored only narrowly over the Miami Hurricanes in their upcoming game. Reserve forward Christian Bishop filled in nicely for him and has been solid as their sixth man all season.
But beating the Hurricanes even at full strength would be a tough matchup.
Are Texas doomed without Dylan Disu?
