In a tweet shared on Saturday morning, Miami Hurricanes QB D’Eriq King announced his intention to return to Miami for the 2021 season.

One of the best QBs in the country, and one of the best QBs Miami has had in the 20 years post-Ken Dorsey, King’s decision to return automatically elevates the floor for Miami in 2021, and puts the ceiling quite high as well.

A semi-finalist or finalist for multiple national awards, King has been an invaluable addition to the Miami program on and off the field in the 2020 season. The Houston transfer has given Miami a settled QB position, and exuded the leadership that Miami was sorely lacking over the course of the past few years.

We’ll have more on King’s return to Miami in the coming days. For now, we celebrate.
