ESPN Analyst Predicting Notable NCAA Tournament Upset Today

March 25, 2023 by The Spun

There were a bunch of upsets in the Sweet 16 last night and one analyst believes that there will be at least one more as the round wraps up tonight.

Appearing on Get Up, ESPN’s Seth Greenberg predicted that the surging Miami Hurricanes would pull the upset over 1-seeded Houston Cougars. He believes that Miami’s rebound ability will serve them well against a Houston team that struggles to recover from missing shots.

“The upset special? It’s knocking out the No. 1 seed. Miami over Houston. You say, ‘How does that happen?’ Well you know what? This is a Houston team that rebounds 37-percent of their misses. A missed shot is their best offense…”

The Hurricanes are fresh off an upset win over Indiana and are 7.5-point underdogs against the Cougars. But Houston has seemed a tad vulnerable this tournament – especially in the First Round when they only narrowly beat 16-seeded Northern Kentucky.

This has definitely been an NCAA Tournament filled to the brim with upsets though. Two 1-seeds have already been eliminated and the remaining two – Houston and Alabama – have weaknesses that can be exploited.

Miami made the Elite Eight last year as a 10-seed before losing to eventual national champion Kansas. With their recent form though, they can’t be counted out against anybody.

Is Houston ripe for an upset later tonight?
