Miami guard Haley Cavinder went viral during Monday night’s NCAA Tournament game against Indiana.
After making a clutch free throw to give Miami a 68-65 lead over Indiana with 12 seconds left, Cavinder shushed the fans at Assembly Hall.
Indiana actually tied the game on the following possession, but then Destiny Harden scored with a few seconds on the clock to send Miami to the Sweet 16.
Shortly after the Miami-Indiana game was over, Cavinder’s gesture towards the crowd went viral on Twitter. She recently commented on her uncharacteristic reaction.
“I know I gave them a reaction; usually I don’t,” Cavinder said, via ESPN. “I was like, ‘I’m gonna shush ’em.’ I’m just glad we won after that.”
