Earlier this week, Hanna Cavinder announced that she’s using her fifth and final season of eligibility to play basketball for Miami. She was on the team when it made the Elite Eight in 2023.

“My last season of basketball was one of the most successful & challenging yrs of my life but it helped me grow immensely,” Hanna wrote on social media. “The past few months I have been itching to get back to the game that I thought I lost the passion for. With that being said, I am returning for one more szn.”

It didn’t take long for Hanna’s twin sister, Haley, to join her for the 2024-25 season.

Even though Haley previously transferred to TCU, she announced Thursday that she’s taking her talents back to the Sunshine State.

“Given the news yesterday that my sister was returning to play ball at Miami and after careful consideration and thought, I’ve decided to return to the University of Miami and play with Hanna for our final and 5th year,” Haley explained. “There is nothing more important than family and the bond I share with my Twin sister.”

As you’d expect, Hanna approved of Haley’s decision. She made that abundantly clear with her latest post on X.

Haley was a key contributor for the Hurricanes during the 2022-23 season, averaging 12.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Hanna, meanwhile, averaged 3.8 points per contest while at Miami.

The Cavinders will try to lead Miami back to the NCAA Tournament next season.
