Texas A&M fell to Miami on Saturday, losing 48-33 on the road in South Florida.
After the game, Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher accused Miami players of some less-than-honest tactics prior to his team’s missed two-point conversion attempt late in the third quarter.
“There was a snap early,” Fisher said, via On3. “They clapped. They simulated our snap count and our guys heard the clap, and they snapped the ball. We had a whole play, like a goal-line play. What happened was the ball got snapped early because they simulated the snap count and clapped their hands and our center snapped the ball.”
A&M had cut Miami’s lead to 31-26 before that ill-fated two-point attempt. The Aggies eventually got back to 41-33 with five minutes left in the game, before the Hurricanes closed things out on a 64-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Van Dyke to Jacolby George.
Saturday’s loss knocked A&M out of both the updated Coaches and AP polls, which were released Sunday afternoon.
Miami, meanwhile, is now No. 23 in the Coaches Poll, and jumps into the AP top 25 at No. 22.
