
Miami guards Haley and Hanna Cavinder announced Tuesday they will forgo their final year of eligibility.
“Thank you for an unforgettable season. The love and support we received from the university and the city was special. We’d like to thank our teammates and coaches for bringing us in as family and being a part of a historic season,” the Cavinder twins wrote. “With that being said, Hanna and I have decided to not take our fifth year and start a new chapter in our lives. The U will always be home and we are forever proud to be Hurricanes.”
The Cavinders will end their college careers on a high note. The Hurricanes made it to the Elite Eight of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
Haley started for Miami this season, averaging 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Hanna, meanwhile, averaged 3.8 points per game off the bench.

The Cavinders received a ton of heartwarming messages from their fans after announcing their plans for the 2023-24 season.
“So proud of y’all,” one follower wrote.
“Amazing careers. Excited to see what y’all do next,” a second follower commented.
Another follower replied, “We enjoyed watching you girls play this year. The future is yours.”
Haley and Hanna have a huge fan base eager to see them thrive on and off the hardwood.
The Cavinders haven’t yet announced what they’ll do next.
