Manny Diaz made it official this morning on his weekly appearance on The Joe Rose Show. “This is Florida State week, it’s unlike any other.” The Hurricanes will take their 2-0 record into their national TV matchup with the Seminoles on Saturday night. The Canes are coming off a big win over Louisville but they know it’s no time to get complacent as Miami struggled to finish the season strong a year ago after a win over those same Cardinals. While Miami is a big favorite on Saturday but Diaz said, “We have a greater respect as a football team of what it takes to win a game and how hard it is to win a football game.”
As far as Miami’s win over Louisville, Diaz said “These guys really enjoyed playing with each other and for each other…To have some success on that stage is a good first step.”
It’s on to FSU now and as Coach Diaz put it, “Miami and Florida State should be a national holiday and it doesn’t matter the records.”
