The ACC finished their schedule releases by fully revealing the conference schedule for 2025.
Last Thursday, the ACC announced the week games for each team. Already known to be Miami-Notre Dame, the opener was, understandably, given premium placement on Labor Day Weekend.

Then, on Friday, the ACC announced the conference opener for every team. For the Canes, it’s a rivalry game at Florida State on October 4th to start the conference season.

The first month of the schedule has actually been known for quite some time. Based upon the announced dates of several games, we already knew the September slate would be as follows:
- vs Notre Dame, Sunday, August 31st, 7:30pm, ABC
- vs Bethune Cookman, Saturday, September 6th, Time/TV TBA
- vs USF, Saturday, September 13th, Time/TV TBA
- vs Florida Gators, Saturday, September 20th, Time/TV TBA.
A pair of rivalry games early against Notre Dame and Florida will be huge, HUGE games for the Canes. Notre Dame just played for a National Championship, and Florida is Florida, so both games will be massive for the story of the season.
For those who have long complained about the lack of quality in the Canes’ non-conference schedule — normally 1 marquee game against a top FBS opponent, 1 HBCU sacrificial lamb, and 2 average-at-best FBS opponents — this is the schedule of your dreams. It’s not scheduling the top 4 teams in the country on the road like I’m sure you do in your CFB25 Dynasties, but it’s among the best, and toughest, non-conference schedules of any team in the country.
The Canes’ full ACC Schedule is here:
Week 5 — BYE WEEK, September 27
Week 6 — Miami at Florida State, October 4
Week 7 — BYE WEEK #2, October 11
Week 8 — Louisville at Miami, FRIDAY, October 17
Week 9 — Stanford at Miami, October 25
Week 10 — Miami @ SMU, November 1
Week 11 — Syracuse at Miami, November 8
Week 12 — NC State at Miami, November 15
Week 13 — Miami @ VT, November 22
Week 14 — Miami @ Pitt, November 29
ACC Championship Game — December 6
First things first, this is a second consecutive season with an extra week in the fall. So, again, each team will have 2 bye weeks this year. That is great for Miami, as without the extra bye week, they’d have 8 consecutive games to run through the ACC portion of the schedule. We’ve seen Miami have to battle injury issues in each of the last 2 seasons, so having the additional bye week helps with injury mitigation and recovery as well.
The ACC continues to do asinine things with Miami’s schedule. 2 byes in 3 weeks? Stupid stupid stupid. I hate this conference so much.
The Louisville game on a Friday night coming off a bye is fine. I’d prefer to have Thursday night games as opposed to Friday games personally — you can’t really host recruits on Fridays since that’s when 99% of HSFB teams play their games — but it is what it is.
Miami doesn’t leave the State of Florida until the week 10 trip to Dallas to play SMU. So, they should be good and settled, and hopefully already bowl eligible, by the time that game happens.
I don’t like ending with consecutive road games at VT and at Pitt. But, I opined that Miami would conclude the season at Pitt when the matchups were released. I mean, everybody could see that one coming.
