Mark your calendars and make your plans for Miami’s marquee opener to the 2025 season
It has already been announced that the Miami Hurricanes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish would be facing off in the 2025 season opener at Hard Rock Stadium. In the initial announcement, the game was placed on Labor Day weekend, with the final details to be revealed later.
Well, later is now, and we have the details for the opener. They are as follows:

A traditional rivalry with plenty of hatred between these programs, this installment of Miami-Notre Dame will set the stage for each team for next season. Miami, coming off a 10-3 year, fumbled their chance to compete for championships with 2 late losses in the regular season. Notre Dame put things together well, and played for the College Football Playoff National Championship, losing to Ohio State in the title game.
Miami is no stranger to marquee season openers. The Canes destroyed the Florida Gators 41-17 (and it wasn’t even THAT close) in the 2024 opener, and have previously played teams such as Alabama and LSU — the last time Miami played a Sunday season opener — to start seasons as well.
Mario Cristobal and the Canes look to kick off the 2025 season with a bang. The last time Notre Dame came to Hard Rock Stadium in 2017, well, it went very well for Miami. Here’s the highlight video to relive those memories.
