Something’s Gotta Give
I was trying to figure out a way to get this tweet in here today, and well, you’re just gonna have to indulge me. The movable force vs the stoppable object. Thus is how ESPN’s David Hale described the matchup of Miami’s anemic offense vs. Virginia’s porous defense.
The movable force vs the stoppable object:
Miami’s offense (vs FBS) is 103rd in Pts/Drive (1.36), 102nd in EPA/drive (-0.45) & 113th in TD rate (12.8%).
Virginia’s defense (vs FBS) is 116th in Pts/Drive (3.06), 119th in EPA/drive allowed (1.47) & 115th in opp TD% (38.9%).

So either Miami’s gonna start scoring points against an FBS team for the first time all year, or Virginia’s gonna STOP an FBS team from scoring points for the first time this year.
Either way, somebody’s gonna do something they haven’t done against anybody else yet this season. So, that’s fun? Or … something.
