The Miami Dolphins have a knack for bringing in undrafted free agents who manage to make an impact. Last season alone, a trio made Miami’s 53-man roster: running back Chris Brooks, defensive tackle Brandon Pili, and tight end Julian Hill. Furthermore, practice squad defensive back Ethan Bonner was elevated to the active roster late in the season.
Defensive back Kader Kohou earned interest from several teams after the 2022 NFL draft. He chose to fight for a spot on the Dolphins roster, impressed in the summer at training camp, made the team immediately, and had a terrific rookie season.
Perhaps the “poster player” for recent Dolphins undrafted free agents is defensive back Nik Needham, who is now the longest-tenured Dolphins defensive player and playing on his third contract with the team.
