It’s about time someone finally pumped the brakes on the nonstop Tua Tagovailoa evaluations that we have been hearing from local and especially national media members. Everyone is so quick to try and predict if Tua will be a star and who will be the best between him, Joe Burrow, and Justin Herbert. Tua had a difficult opening game against the Rams but took a massive leap forward going 20 of 28 for 248 yards and a couple of touchdowns with no interceptions on Sunday against the Cardinals. Tua’s stellar performance earned him a QB rating of 122.3. Instead of being patient and enjoying the process, everyone seems in a rush to determine how good Tua will be. Armando Salguero joined The Joe Rose Show Tuesday morning and actually had some patience when it comes to his evaluation.
Armando said, “It’s still too early, it was too early to make a decision on him after one game and it’s too early to make a decision on him after two games. We think that Tua is going to be good, we think he is going to be way more of what he showed in game two than in game one but two games is not exactly a fair sample size either way I don’t think. It was kind of funny people making declarations about Tua’s career after the first game and it’s equally funny people making declarations about his career after the second game. Let’s wait a little bit and watch the bigger sample size.”
With all that being said, Tua and Justin Herbert are set to go head to head when the Dolphins host the Chargers on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.
