Mere days after being critical of the Chicago Bears coaching staff, wide receiver Chase Claypool has a new home.
According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, the Bears are trading Claypool to the Miami Dolphins. The Bears are giving up Claypool and a 7th round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft in exchange for a 6th round pick in the same draft.
The move comes just 11 months after the Bears traded a 2nd-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft – which wound up being 32nd overall – to the Pittsburgh Steelers to bring Claypool into the fold.
Claypool finishes his “tenure” with the Bears having made 18 receptions for 191 yards and one touchdown over 10 games played. He had just four receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in three games for them this season.
Trade! The Chicago Bears are trading WR Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins, per league sources. It will be a 2025 6th from Miami for Claypool and a 2025 7th from Chicago.

The bad news is that their trade for Chase Claypool will likely go down as one of the worst in their history.
The good news is, the Bears seem to have found their franchise wide receiver anyway. In last night’s win over the Washington Commanders, wide receiver D.J. Moore had an epic night with over 200 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
If Moore and the rest of the offense continue to play like they did yesterday, the Claypool debacle will become a mere joke in no time at all.
As for Claypool, he joins a Dolphins team that has no problems at all distributing the ball to its receivers.
