The Miami Dolphins were defeated by the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night at Highmark Stadium, 32-29, in a game where Mike McDaniel’s team felt like they were always just a play away from winning.
Despite going from South Florida to blistering Orchard Park, Miami was prepared for a fight, but they fell just short. However, the fact that they competed with Buffalo after the last two weeks has some feeling good about their chances even in a loss.
The Volume’s Colin Cowherd, during his weekly reactions to the best games of the weekend, is just one of the talking heads who thought the Dolphins came out of a third straight defeat looking good.
“I thought the much cleaner identity, the better game plan, I thought Miami played their butts off,” Cowherd said. “But, Josh Allen in a blizzard, late in the game, there’s just nothing you can do. There’s nothing you can do. That was a huge win for Buffalo, but sometimes you lose a game, and I’m really impressed. The Miami Dolphins’ loss Saturday night was one of the more impressive losses of the year. For a warm weather team to go up in that cold, against Josh Allen, outplay them, outcoach them, outsmart them for a big chunk of that football game, a tip of the cap to the Dolphins. They feel like a playoff team to me.”
This sentiment is something that a lot of fans are feeling right now. Buffalo is one of the best teams in the entire league, and Miami was able to split the season series with them. That should prove that they’re capable of competing among the postseason contenders.
