College Football Analyst Joel Klatt Thinks Dolphins Need To Draft Quarterback

Joel Klatt had a bold take about the Miami Dolphins during the latest episode of “The Joel Klatt Show.”

Klatt, who calls college football games for FOX, thinks the Dolphins should draft a quarterback even though they have Tua Tagovailoa.

He wants the Dolphins to draft Michael Penix Jr. since he thinks Penix makes a lot of sense in Mike McDaniel’s offense.

“I still want to see Michael Penix with Mike McDaniel’s offense and Tyreek Hill because let’s face it, as good as Tua has played, and he has, he’s gotten so much better, this is probably not the right fit (for Tua),” Klatt said. “Every time you look up and watch the highlights, Tyreek Hill is having to stop and reach back and catch.”

Tagovailoa has had his struggles at times but the Dolphins appear to be committed to him for now. Even though he hasn’t been extended yet, it’s still expected to happen at some point this offseason.

He finished the 2023 season with 4,624 yards through the air, 29 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He also completed 69.3% of his passes, which is a career-high.

Tagovailoa also led the Dolphins to the playoffs before they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Time will tell if they feel the same way as Klatt does.
