Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook won’t just jump at the first offer he receives in free agency. At least that’s what we’ve gathered from ESPN insider Jeff Darlington’s latest report.
While on ESPN’s NFL Live this week, Darlington said Cook is “not willing” to accept the current offer he has received from the Dolphins.
The Dolphins have not yet pulled their offer to Cook. It may just remain on the table through training camp.
What’s fascinating about this report is that Cook recently said the Dolphins would be the “perfect fit” for him.
“As a running back you look for a certain scheme and I know the scheme that I’m good in, and that’s outside zone, and that’s what the Miami Dolphins run. So it’s like, you know, it’d be a perfect fit. And the roster, like you said, speaks for itself,” Cook said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Update: Dalvin Cook’s is ‘Not willing to accept’ the current contract offer from the #Dolphins, per @JeffDarlington
The Dolphins still have a contract offer on the table for Cook but he’s hesitant to commit to their current proposal.

Even if the Dolphins fail to sign Cook this offseason, they should have more than enough talent at running back with Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin, Jeff Wilson Jr. and Devon Achane.
That being said, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel would probably love nothing more than to add Cook to his backfield.
