Dolphins Announce Decision On Tua Tagovailoa For Saturday’s Preseason Game

After being limited by concussions during the 2022 NFL season and finishing the year with his career in jeopardy, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will apparently be back on the field today.

Tagovailoa was not featured on the Dolphins list of inactives for their preseason game against the Houston Texans today. As a result, we can conclude that Tagovailoa will play at least a few plays in the game.

Tagovailoa missed the final two games of the regular season and their playoff game against the Buffalo Bills due to a concussion. There was speculation in the ensuing offseason that he might be pressured to retire.

But after getting the medical all-clear from his doctors, Tagovailoa set out to return to the field and the Dolphins continued the task of building around their franchise quarterback.

Looks like Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and many of Dolphins healthy starters are expected to play today vs. Texans after sitting last week.

That falls in line with what Mike McDaniel’s Dolphins did in 2022 when Tua played 2 series in 2nd preseason game. https://t.co/yvgtT4Cqnc

When healthy Tua Tagovailoa is about as efficient of a quarterback as their is. In his 13 games played he threw for 3,548 yards and 25 touchdowns with just eight interceptions while completing 65-percent of his passes.

For his efforts, Tagovailoa was voted to the Pro Bowl and was one of the top vote-getters in the entire league for the distinction.

We all hope that Tagovailoa is able to stay healthy and enjoy a proper football season in 2023.
