The Miami Dolphins waived defensive tackle Brandon Pili on Saturday, likely with the expectation that he would clear waivers on Monday and the team could sign him back to the practice squad. Instead, the second-year player is headed across the country. The Seattle Seahawks announced on Monday they had claimed Pili off waivers.
Pili joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2023 out of USC. He began his rookie season on Miami’s 53-man roster before being waived during the season and being signed to the practice squad. He again made the 53-man roster this year, and, at almost the exact same point in the season Miami moved him to the practice squad last year, the team waived him this year. Now, he will look to continue his career in Seattle.
In two seasons, Pili has appeared in 12 games, including all eight for Miami this season. He has recorded four tackles.
The Seahawks placed safety K’Von Wallace on injured reserve to create space for Pili.
