The Miami Dolphins used Tuesday as a day to retain two veteran running backs.
Hours after reportedly agreeing to a two-year deal worth up to $5.6 million with Raheem Mostert, the Dolphins reportedly re-signed his counterpart Jeff Wilson.
Wilson’s contract is also for two years, and is worth a maximum of $8.2 million, per ESPN insider Adam Schefter.
Wilson and Mostert actually played together on the San Francisco 49ers from 2018-21. The Dolphins signed Mostert in free agency last March and then traded for Wilson on November 1.
In eight games with Miami, the 27-year-old Wilson rushed for 392 yards and three touchdowns on 84 carries while adding 12 receptions for 94 yards and a score.
He also rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries and caught one pass for 13 yards in the Dolphins’ AFC Wild Card Game loss to the Buffalo Bills.
