The Miami Dolphins added to their defensive line depth on Sunday, adding a former fourth-round pick to the fold.
Miami signed Da’Shawn Hand, who is going into his sixth NFL season and spent last year and the end of the 2021 campaign with the Tennessee Titans.
Hand, a star at the University of Alabama, was originally drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2018.

Hand, who was bothered by injuries during his college days, has seen his health be a major issue at the professional level as well.
Incredibly, Hand has found himself on the injured reserve at some point in four of his first five pro seasons. His best year came as a rookie in 2018, when he appeared in 13 games with eight starts and recorded 27 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Hand was named to the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team at the end of the year.
Hand only played in three games in 2019, but bounced back to played in 10 in 2020, finishing the year with 19 total tackles. Since then, he’s appeared in only four regular season games in two seasons.
