The NFL future of former league MVP Lamar Jackson is unstable heading into the 2023 season.
Jackson is reportedly demanding a fully-guaranteed contract that exceeds the massive deal signed by Browns QB Deshaun Watson last offseason. Understandably, this has led to some disagreement with the Baltimore Ravens’ front office.
If Jackson is on his way out of Baltimore, where could he be heading?
During Wednesday morning’s episode of Get Up on ESPN, NFL insider Jeff Darlington floated the idea of Jackson making his way down to South Beach to join the Miami Dolphins.
Jackson, a native of the Miami area, would certainly be an exciting addition for the Dolphins franchise. Pairing him alongside Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle would give the Dolphins the most explosive offensive unit in the NFL.
Tua Tagovailoa seemed to be solidified as the Dolphins’ longterm franchise quarterback before multiple serious head injuries called his NFL future into question. The Miami organization is taking its time on a decision about Tua’s fifth-year option.
There are no official reports linking Jackson to the Dolphins, but this hypothetical move is certainly fun to consider.
