Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook is hitting the open market. On Friday, the Vikings released the former second-round pick.
During this Friday’s edition of “NFL Live,” ESPN insider Jeff Darlington said the Broncos and Dolphins are the front-runners for Cook. However, he would give the edge to Miami.
In fact, Darlington seems pretty convinced that Cook will end up on the Dolphins.
“Dalvin Cook fits perfectly in Miami,” Darlington said. “It would surprise me if he doesn’t end up in Miami at this point.”
Darlington pointed out that Cook recently shared a photo of himself at Hard Rock Stadium on Instagram.

The Dolphins currently have Raheem Mostert, Myles Gaskin, Jeff Wilson Jr. and Devon Achane at running back. They don’t need necessarily need another running back to have success on the ground this fall. Make no mistake though, Cook would certainly give Mike McDaniel a workhorse capable of putting up elite numbers in his system.
Cook has not yet scheduled any free-agent visits. Perhaps that’ll happen in the coming days.
