FB Alec Ingold gives his impressions on the running backs he'll be in front of

March 22, 2022 by Dolphins Wire

When the Miami Dolphins hired head coach Mike McDaniel, it was pretty obvious there was going to be a level of commitment to running the ball that’s been absent in recent years. And, now that they’ve added two running backs, Raheem Mostert and Chase Edmonds, and a fullback, Alec Ingold, that vision is set to become a reality.

On Monday, the new Dolphins were introduced to the media, and the rushing attack was a point of conversation for a number of players. Ingold was asked what he thought about the new backs he was going to be blocking for, and his answer was pretty simple.

“Fast,” Ingold said.”Absolutely blazing speed, fast. Everyone’s gonna be running. Ah, shoot. The entire offense is gonna be running. I know that it’s gonna be a lot of conditioning work when we get going in training camp and OTAs and all that, but running backs that I’ve worked with, in the past, and especially these guys, they kind of set the tone for how an offense is going to run… The amount of speed those guys bring to the offense, that’s exciting just to be able to chase those guys downfield after those explosive plays that they’re obviously capable of making.”

Miami averaged just 92.2 rushing yards per game in 2021, good for No. 29 in the league. This year, with the new additions and scheme, that ranking should see a lot of improvement.
