It would be an understatement to say the quarterback matchup for this Sunday’s Dolphins-Jets game is atrocious.
The Jets announced on Friday that Joe Flacco will start in their regular-season finale. Mike White has been ruled out due to a rib injury.
Flacco has appeared in four games this season, completing 58.2 percent of his pass attempts for 902 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions.
The Dolphins, meanwhile, are on track to start Skylar Thompson at quarterback. Tua Tagovailoa is still in concussion protocol and Teddy Bridgewater is dealing with a dislocated pinky finger.
Thompson, a rookie from Kansas State, has 382 passing yards, one touchdown and three interceptions this season.
Let’s just say there aren’t many fans eager to watch a quarterback duel featuring Flacco and Thompson.
All the pressure will be on the Dolphins this Sunday. They need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Kickoff for the Dolphins-Jets game is at 1 p.m. ET.
