As well as Tua Tagovailoa played in his first year under Mike McDaniel (when healthy), serious questions remain about his long-term availability and whether or not he has what it takes to get the Dolphins over the top.
With that said, Miami has seemingly committed to 100% to Tua being its starting QB next year.
Per ESPN’s Jeff Darlington: “The Dolphins will not be pursuing Lamar Jackson or any other starting QBs this off-season.” He added, “as one source said, ‘Mike fully believes Tua is the perfect fit for his system.'”
The football world reacted to Miami’s quarterback stance on social media.
“Mike McDaniel when he faces Lamar Jackson instead of trading for him:” tweeted FanDuel Sportsbook.
“Glad this is cleared up,” said Danny Heifetz of the Ringer.
“Guess it’s back to short jokes for the trolls,” a Dolphins fan replied.
“I want this tweet in injectable form,” another commented.
“I’m totally fine with rolling with Tua. BUT…. If the Jets turn into contenders with Rodgers and/or Lamar turns into a world beater again, and it keeps us from getting a playoff win… Heads need to roll. Can we all agree on that, at least?” another asked.
“Squashing the hopes and dreams of many dumbasses on Twitter. #FinsUp.”
It’s certainly a decision…
