After spending roughly a decade in the NFL, offensive lineman Mike Pouncey has decided to call it a career.
Pouncey will sign a ceremonial one-day contract with the Dolphins this Thursday so he can officially retire as a member of the franchise.
The Dolphins selected Pouncey with the 15th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He played for the franchise through the 2017 season, appearing in 93 games.
In 2018, the Chargers signed Pouncey to a two-year, $15 million contract. He earned Pro Bowl honors during his first year in Los Angeles.
Pouncey last played for the Chargers in 2019. Unfortunately, injuries prevented him from seeing the field in 2020.
Overall, Pouncey finished his NFL career as a four-time Pro Bowler. The talented center from Florida also had an exceptional college career, winning a national title in 2009 and earning All-American honors twice.
Congratulations to Mike Pouncey on a great career.
