Former Packers Quarterback Predicts Where Aaron Rodgers Will Play

As the sports world continues to wait for Aaron Rodgers to announce his decision for the 2023 season, predictions have been floating around since before the 2022 season even ended. For one of Rodgers’ former teammates, the destination should be a fun one.

Speaking to The Spun for a Q&A this past week, former Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert predicted that Rodgers would either sign with the New York Jets or the Miami Dolphins. He said that Miami would be a better destination though due to their better roster and warmer weather.

“Aaron Rodgers is going to end up either a New York Jet or a Miami Dolphin. If I had to REALLY guess, I’d say the Miami Dolphins (because they) have the roster to win a Super Bowl and he could really enjoy some time in the warmth (and) defrost a little bit after all of these years,” Benkert said.

The Jets have widely been considered the top destination for Rodgers for several weeks now. Miami has largely been an afterthought due to their commitment to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

But that doesn’t mean that Miami can’t still make a play for him.

Most analysts seem to accept that Tua Tagovailoa’s repeated concussions will make it difficult for the Miami Dolphins to invest in him long-term. And if Rodgers expresses an interest in going to the Dolphins, the team will be hard-pressed to turn him away.

And even with Tua’s injuries, they still finished the 2022 season with one of the most prolific passing offenses in the league. A healthy Aaron Rodgers could make them even better.

Would Aaron Rodgers be a good fit for the Dolphins?

Will either of Kurt Benkert’s predicted destinations be Rodgers’ landing spot?
