On Friday, the Minnesota Vikings officially announced the release of 27-year-old running back Dalvin Cook.
Now that Cook is an unrestricted free agent, the NFL world is wondering where he’ll suit up next.
During an appearance with The Pat McAfee Show this afternoon, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said the Miami Dolphins “make sense” as the next landing spot for the star ball carrier.
“That would make some sense,” he said. “They were one of the teams that looked into a possible trade for him in March.”
“I still can’t believe that the Vikings never got close to a trade and are releasing Dalvin Cook at 27..

Cook turns 28 in August, but he’s notched 1,100+ yards rushing in each of the last four seasons. He still has some major big-play ability, evidenced by his 53-yard touchdown against the Dolphins this past season.
Cook was entering the final year of his contract with the Vikings and was set to earn $10.4 million in base salary. The team saves $12.5 million in cap space with this post June 1 move.
The Miami running back depth chart currently consists of Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., Myles Gaskin and third-round rookie Devon Achane.
