Jalen Ramsey: ‘A new chapter awaits’

Jalen Ramsey is ready for a new start.

The Miami Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey have been headed to a summer divorce throughout this offseason, with the team needing to wait until after June 1 to make a deal due to salary cap ramifications. As we get closer to the start of June, multiple teams are believed to be interested in trading for Ramsey, which could lead to a bidding war, allowing Miami to receive more in return for the cornerback, despite the large salary cap number he is expected to have in 2025.

On Tuesday, five days before June 1, Ramsey posted to X a simple “5…” which could signal he is expecting a trade to be coming soon. Technically, the Dolphins would have to make the trade official on June 2 – a “post-June 1” move would create the salary cap space the team needs – but the meaning, while somewhat cryptic, would seem to match up.

Wednesday night, Ramsey appeared to start saying his goodbye to Miami as he prepares to move on. In a couple of posts on X, Ramsey discussed “each & every chapter” he has had in his career – starting with the Jacksonville Jaguars, moving to the Los Angeles Rams, and now a two-year stint with the Dolphins – as well as looking forward where “a new chapter awaits.”

Is a trade already in place, with the teams just waiting until after June 1 to make it official. Does Ramsey know where he is headed for the 2025 season? And what will Miami receive back in exchange for Ramsey? We may find out in just a few more days.

I’m grateful for each & every chapter so far! every part brought me to a greater version of myself! Regardless of how things “ended”, the journey has been LOVE!

God is the GREATEST!

For the record btw, i’ve loved every city i’ve played in & the fans who supported! the anger is very misplaced at times but sometimes valid too but real ones kno the intentions always solid! …

a new chapter awaits
