The Miami Dolphins have a stacked defense after acquiring Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams.
During Thursday’s introductory conference, via NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, the All-Pro cornerback expressed excitement about his new team. He called Miami’s secondary “the best group that I’ve been a part of” on paper, but he knows they have to prove it on the field.
Ramsey declared him and Xavien Howard the NFL’s best cornerback duo.
Ramsey and Howard quickly got to know each other Wednesday. Howard gave his new teammate a tour of the team’s facilities, and they attended a Miami Heat game together.
“We’re gonna be the best duo,” Howard told Ramsey. “Remember that.”
Miami allowed the sixth-most passing yards last season, but it could get much tougher to move the ball downfield on this secondary. Ramsey has made six straight Pro Bowls, and Howard earned a Pro Bowl nod in four of the last five seasons.
“I think we have a good secondary, on paper, if you look at it, but we got to put the work in,” Ramsey said Thursday, per Mike Masala of Dolphins Wire. “We can speak it as much as we want to, but we’re going to have to go out there and prove it. That’s what we’ll plan to do.”
