One of the unsung heroes of this Dolphin team has been the kicker Jason Sanders. Jason has been perfect this year going 17 of 17 on field goals and 21 of 21 on extra points. His long-distance kicks have been crucial to the team’s success. Sanders joined The Joe Rose Show on Thursday morning and was asked about his range. Jason said, “I don’t go past 62 or 63 yards when I am warming up.”
So what does he attribute his success to? Sanders said about his perfect streak, “It’s just about taking every week as the same…every kick I get on the field it’s the same routine, the same mindset going into it, the same process I had walking onto the field. I treat every kick like it’s of the same importance whether it’s a first-quarter or fourth-quarter kick.
Sanders and the Dolphins have a marquee matchup against the Chargers this Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. Kickoff is at 4:05 PM and the game can be heard here on WQAM and make sure to tune in tomorrow morning at 6:00 AM as we have a loaded Football Friday show coming your way!
