Jets fans who thought that Tim Boyle couldn’t be any worse than Zach Wilson quickly learned that if he’s not worse, he’s at best “as bad.”
In a play that is already earning nicknames ranging from “The Fail Mary” to “The Hell Mary,” Jets quarterback Tim Boyle tried to throw a Hail Mary pass from midfield to the endzone as time expired in the first half in today’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
But rather than let the ball fall incomplete, Miami Dolphins defender Jevon Holland intercepted the pass and ran it back 99 yards for a touchdown to give Miami a 17-6 halftime lead.
The play nullified what had been a brief flash of hope for the Jets when defender Brandin Echols got a pick-six of his own to cut Miami’s lead to 10-6. They then picked off Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa again to give them potentially good field position just before the half.
Hell ensued.

It’s fitting that the Jets’ first game on a Thanksgiving adjacent game since the infamous “Butt Fumble” game is going to go down in history as yet another game with a name.
Always remember: No matter how bad an NFL player is, there’s always someone worse out there.
