Look: Bill Simmons’ Comment On Tua Tagovailoa Is Going Viral

April 2, 2022 by The Spun

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa injured.

On Saturday, lifelong Patriots fan/sports analyst Bill Simmons reacted to New England’s acquisition of DeVante Parker by way of trade with the Miami Dolphins.

In doing so, he took a shot at third-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

“Devante Parker welcome to New England!!! Let’s take it slow as you get used to the startling experience of having your QB hit you in stride when you’re open,” Simmons wrote on Twitter.

Since entering the league as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 draft, Tagovailoa has logged a 3-0 starting record against New England. Tua and Parker connected for a game-high 81 yards during the Dolphins-Patriots Week 1 matchup this past season.

Plenty of Dolphins fans were quick to point this out to Simmons.

“Tua owns your franchise lmao 3-0 and 2-0 at Gillette,” one wrote.

“Tua has never lost to the Patriots and Parker was the main person to smash y’all,” another added.

Tua finished his second NFL season with a 67.8 completion percentage, ranking No. 4 in the league. Mac Jones ranked eighth in league completion percentage with 67.3 through his rookie season.

Parker’s best NFL season came the year before the Dolphins drafted Tua. With Ryan Fitzpatrick as his primary starting quarterback in 2019, the former No. 14 overall pick logged 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns through his only full NFL season. Just as they have for the majority of his career, injury issues hampered his past two seasons with Tua at the helm.

With the Patriots severely lacking talent at the wide receiver position, Parker should slide right into the No. 1 spot in New England this coming season.
