The Miami Dolphins made a major splash Sunday by acquiring Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams.
Ramsey is clearly pumped for the change of scenery. The All-Pro cornerback wrote on Twitter that he’s spent the last month praying for this scenario to unfold.
At the HBCU Battle of the Brains in Texas, Ramsey told NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe he’s “super excited” to join the Dolphins. He immediately set his new team’s goal at a Super Bowl triumph.
“I’m just another piece of the puzzle,” Ramsey said. “I’m not gonna say that I’m gonna bring all of that there. I’m gonna bring that piece of the puzzle. I got some experience in it. I hope to help those guys visualize it, and then we gonna go get it. We gotta put the work in, though.”
On Twitter, new teammate Tyreek Hill jokingly told Ramsey they’re going to have problems if he repeats their accidental collision from the Pro Bowl flag-football game. Ramsey responded that he “had to take my last opportunity” that “won’t happen again.”
“He’s gonna make me better, and I’m going to make him better,” Ramsey told Wolfe of practicing against the star wide receiver.
Ramsey told fans they’re getting “one of the biggest competitors ever.” He’s eager to play in a loaded defense alongside Xavien Howard, Bradley Chubb, and Christian Wilkins.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins will give the Rams tight end Hunter Long and this year’s No. 77 pick for Ramsey. The trade won’t be finalized until Wednesday.
