Miami Dolphins Just Drafted A Notable Quarterback

The Miami Dolphins seemingly put everything around Tua Tagovailoa in order for him to succeed next season. But, that didn’t stop the team from adding to its quarterback room via the draft Saturday.

With pick No. 247, the Dolphins elected to take Kansas State QB Skylar Thompson in the seventh round.

Thompson arrived in Manhattan, Kansas as Missouri’s Gatorade Player of the Year, and played well as a junior before injuries derailed his senior campaign.

That said, Thompson bounced back a bit in 2021, completing nearly 70 percent of his passes across 10 games. While also throwing for over 2,000 yards and 12 touchdowns to four interceptions.

Thompson never posted standout production, but he does have the ability to scramble our and make some throws outside of the pocket; which would be intriguing to a team like the Dolphins that possesses so much speed.

The former Wildcats QB has also overcome quite a bit in his life, showing the resolve to soldier on after losing his mother and grandfather to cancer.

Now the Dolphins bring in Thompson, who joins Tua, Teddy Bridgewater and Chris Streveler on Miami’s depth chart.
