Monday Night Football: Jets-Dolphins Predictions, Spread, Prop Bets

September 27, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The New York Jets take on the Miami Dolphins in what might be the most underwhelming Monday Night Football game of the year, but there is still money to be made by choosing the right bets. As of this posting, it appears as though Justin Fields will earn the start, as he’s back at practice and is expected to be cleared for the contest. The former first-round pick will face off against a Miami Dolphins club desperate for their first win, as the coaching staff is fighting for their job.

Monday Night Football: Jets-Dolphins Predictions, Spread, Prop Bets

New York Jets vs Miami Dolphins (-2.5)
Over/Under: 44.5

Justin Fields continues to be one of the most hot-and-cold quarterbacks in the NFL. While the former Bear dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1, he looked lost against the Buffalo Bills prior to his concussion. Fortunately, he’s playing a Miami Dolphins defense that can’t seem to stop anybody. The team has allowed at least 30 points in all three of their contests, and Fields (or even Tyrod Taylor) should be able to consistently move the ball against this subpar group.

The same cannot be said of the Miami Dolphins. While head coach Mike McDaniel is doing his best to scheme up easy throws, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is in the midst of a rough season. The Alabama product never had the best physical gifts, but he overcame his shortcomings with elite accuracy and processing ability. Those traits haven’t been present in 2025, and it doesn’t take the 1985 Bears to slow down this passing attack.

Both rosters are among the worst in the league, but New York’s quarterback advantage gives them the edge in this contest. If you’re going to bet on Monday Night Football, make sure to take the Jets.

Prediction: Jets win
Over/Under: Under

Best Prop Bets

Justin Fields: OVER 0.5 Touchdown Passes

As mentioned above, the Miami Dolphins have a terrible defense, and this Monday Night Football prop bet isn’t asking much of Fields. All he has to do is throw a single passing touchdown, which should come easily against a defense that’s allowed six passing touchdowns over its past two games. Fields doesn’t throw as well as Drake Maye or Josh Allen, but he should still connect with Garrett Wilson for at least one touchdown. Speaking of which…

Garrett Wilson: OVER 66.5 Receiving Yards

See above. The Jets passing attack runs through Garrett Wilson, and the former first-round pick should be able to routinely find openings against this subpar unit. Even if Justin Fields cannot play, Tyrod Taylor proved he knows how to get the ball to the star wideout. Facing off against a solid Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense, Wilson and Taylor connected for 10 receptions, 84 yards, and one touchdown.

Breece Hall: UNDER 47.5 Rushing Yards

The New York Jets do not want Breece Hall to be their featured running back. While he found success in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he recorded just 29 yards in Week 2 and 21 yards in Week 3. What’s most worrying is that he only saw nine carries last week, while backup running back Braelon Allen saw six. Even when facing a bad defense, it’s hard to bet on Hall reaching 48 rushing yards with such a small workload.
