Dolphins legend Dan Marino was putting up gaudy passing numbers before it became a regular occurence in the NFL.
With that said, if he played in today’s NFL, Marino claims he would throw for 6,000 yards in a single season.
“The best part about this is I’m retired and I don’t have to prove it. Yes, we’d throw for 6,000 yards,” Marino said. “It would be a lot of fun. I wish I could.”
While this may seem like an outlandish take for most quarterbacks, NFL fans are convinced Marino would’ve accomplished this feat.
I 100% believe this is possible. I legit think he is a top 3 arm ever and with today’s weapons…if he was on miami for example he would dominate. https://t.co/6PVCKM60rG

Another fan said, “He was the first to hit 5k passing yards when he did it in 1984. Then 24 years went by before Drew Brees did it in 2008. Since then it’s happened 14 times which is basically every year. Including Jamies Winston. His 5k in 1984 was basically the equivalent of 6k today.”

“He can actually claim this because he threw for 5k during the time you could beat up wrs,” a second fan wrote.

Marino had 5,084 passing yards during the 1984 season. He finished his career with 61,361 yards through the air.
Do you think Marino’s claim is accurate?
