The NFL has reportedly opened an investigation into Tyreek Hill’s alleged assault earlier this month.
Hill, the Miami Dolphins’ star wide receiver, is accused of hitting a 57-year-old man who worked at Haulover Marina in Miami in the back of the head on June 18.
Hill is currently under police investigation, and while the NFL previously declined comment about whether they were looking into the matter themselves, Fox Sports 640’s Andy Slater says they are.
“The NFL has officially requested video from police of the alleged Tyreek Hill incident,” Slated said. “The video must be released to the league and others at some point as it’s public record.”
Slater also added that the NFL has apparently asked to interview “every police officer and detective involved in the Tyreek Hill investigation.”
SLATER SCOOP: The NFL has officially requested video from police of the alleged Tyreek Hill incident, law-enforcement sources tell me.
The video must be released to the league and others at some point as it’s public record.

Regardless of what the results of the police investigation are, the NFL could still opt to punish Hill on its own, depending on what it finds.
Pro Football Talk has theorized that if the league punished Hill under its Personal Conduct Policy, the penalty could be harsher because of the 29-year-old’s past admission to choking and punching his then-pregnant girlfriend back in 2015.
