After making the playoffs as a wild card team last year, the Miami Dolphins are hoping to be even better in 2023. To that end, they’re beginning their offseason with a blockbuster trade.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are preparing to acquire All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams. The trade has not been finalized and the compensation has yet to be disclosed.
Ramsey has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL since he broke onto the scene as a rookie in 2016. He’s made six straight Pro Bowls and is a three-time First-Team All-Pro selection.
Fans on Twitter have a wide range of reactions to this trade. Many believe the Dolphins are going a bit overboard with trades since they don’t have a first-round pick this year, others are looking forward to see how Ramsey matches up against the AFC East quarterbacks.
Acquiring Jalen Ramsey might have been a necessity for the Dolphins though. Between Josh Allen and Mac Jones, along with the increasing likelihood that Aaron Rodgers joins the Jets, the Dolphins may have three Pro Bowl quarterbacks to go up against in 2023.
And now that Miami has hired Vic Fangio as their new defensive coordinator, they might as well start giving him some elite talent to help run his system better.
Will Jalen Ramsey be a good fit in Miami?
