Despite serious concerns about his long-term health, the Miami Dolphins are “open” to extending Tua Tagovailoa GM Chris Grier says.
Speaking to the media Wednesday, Grier revealed that the team is preparing to enter discussions about Tua’s future in Miami. Saying (via NFL reporter Dov Kleiman):
“We’ll be in touch with Tua’s representatives, and Mike and I and Brandon [Shore] will sit, and Steve [Ross] will make a push for things, and we’ll talk and see where they stand.”
The NFL world reacted to Grier’s Tua remarks on social media.
“LOVE TUA SEE IT!! Hahaha!!” a fan replied. “Let’s go!!!”
“Tua ain’t going no where you hatin’ ass hoes,” another tweeted.
“RIP to the Tua haters,” another laughed. “In mf’ing shambles rn.”
“This will be an interesting debate,” said Dr. Jesse Morse. “What if he suffers another concussion? How many more concussions until the medical staff will no longer clear him to return? IMO Tua is VERY high risk for another concussion. I would personally see how he does in 2023, if he can stay…”
“Not saying this because I hate Miami (which I do) and I’m being objective with this take: We already know Tua’s a health risk and I’m also not sure he’s THAT good. He makes plays but’s also mistake prone. If I’m Miami I want a full healthy, great year before paying him big $$$,” a user commented.
How would you proceed if you were in Miami’s front office?
