The Miami Dolphins are reportedly “exploring all options at quarterback” before deciding on Tua Tagovailoa’s future with the team, per NFL insider Josina Anderson.
Tua was once solidly considered as the Dolphins’ franchise QB, but some serious head injuries suffered during the 2022 season have called his football future into question.
The NFL world took to Twitter to react to these reports.
“Nothing against Tua, but if Lamar Jackson is available you HAVE TO AT LEAST see what they’re talking about,” one fan said.
“Here we go with the bullsh–t,” another said.
“I’m sure Tua fans will take this news well,” another added.
These reports conflict with statements made by both general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel, both of whom showed a commitment to the 25-year-old quarterback.
“Like any other player, you factor in every variable,” McDaniel said last week. “I think it’s important to recognize we have a congruence of interests by the Dolphins and the player, Tua, that we both want him to play at a very high level for a long time for the Miami Dolphins.”
The Dolphins have until May 1 to make a decision on Tua’s fifth-year option.
