Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is looking to sell a few of his major assets to raise a bit of capital – including a piece of the Dolphins.
According to Andy Slater of Fox Sports, Ross is looking to sell a minority stake in the team, Hard Rock Stadium and his stake in the Formula One Miami Grand Prix to Citadel hedge fund CEO Ken Griffin. Griffin has a net worth of $35 billion.
Per the report, Ross is making the sale as part of an effort to raise money for more investments into sports and real estate.
Ross has owned the Miami Dolphins since 2009 and has seen the team make two playoff appearances under his watch.
Ross is said to be considering the sale to bring in additional money so he can make more sports and real-estate investments, according to a source.

Ken Griffin recently saw a rise to popular culture after being portrayed by Nick Offerman in the movie Dumb Money, chronicling the short squeeze of GameStop several years ago. Griffin’s Citadel hedge fund was one of the key players in that squeeze.
Pretty soon he’ll be a part of the NFL owner’s society too.
