Reuben Foster Working Out With New Team: Fans React

April 8, 2022 by The Spun

Reuben Foster interacting with Alabama fans.

It’s been several years since linebacker Reuben Foster last appeared in an NFL game. But at age 27, Foster appears to be eyeing a comeback with a new team.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported on Friday that Foster is working out with the Miami Dolphins. Jackson noted that Foster has recovered from a major knee injury that cost him multiple seasons. He also pointed out that Foster previously worked with Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel while he was an assistant with the San Francisco 49ers.

Foster attempted to mount a comeback in 2021. He had workouts for the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns, but could not get a contract.

Dolphins fans seem very intrigued by the idea of bringing Foster into the fold. Many fans are hoping that the team will give Foster a chance – even if he has to be on thin ice for it.

This is definitely worth the look. Add him and let’s get this shit started https://t.co/nhCw8WwohW

Definitely look into this. The talent is there but the off the field and injuries have hurt him https://t.co/bvmTkqjn2n

If he bounced back from the injuries and his off-the-field is straight I think it’d be worth giving him a chance https://t.co/Nmue8LHwid

Rooting so hard for this dude. His 2016 season at Alabama was absolutely incredible. https://t.co/URFoYnAIVW

Reuben Foster was a first-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2017 and made an immediate impact with 72 tackles in just 10 games as a rookie. He finished third in the Rookie of the Year voting that year.

But in 2018, amid some serious off-the-field legal issues, the 49ers released him.

Washington signed Foster off waivers a few days after his release. But Foster never played a down for them due to a torn ACL and LCL.

Will Reuben Foster get a contract with the Dolphins?
