This weekend the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Miami Dolphins in their first meeting since the blockbuster trade that sent Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill to Miami last year. So who won the trade?
On Friday’s edition of Undisputed on Fox Sports, Skip Bayless made the case that the Chiefs won the trade. His explanation was simple: They won the Super Bowl the year of the trade, therefore they won the trade.
“The Chiefs won the Super Bowl. So in the end, they won the trade,” Bayless said.
For once in a long while it’s a pretty sensible take by Bayless. While the long-term consequences of not having Hill might be felt over the next few years, in the short-term the move had no effect on the Chiefs’ ability to continue winning titles.

Nevertheless, the move appears to have set up the Miami Dolphins as one of the ascending powers in the AFC. If the Dolphins start stacking up wins against the Chiefs and making deeper postseason runs, the Chiefs might regret it over time.
But if the Chiefs win this Sunday, everyone in Kansas City is going to breath a sigh of relief – at least until their next meeting.
