During this Tuesday’s edition of “First Take,” ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith made it known that he’s not fond of Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.
After ESPN played a brief clip of McDaniel talking about Tua Tagovailoa performing a somersault at practice, Smith unleashed a very serious rant.
“I don’t want to be excessive because I’m serious and I’m not joking,” Smith said. “I don’t like listening to this man. I have an attitude when I see this man.
“It’s unconscionable how you let Tua Tagovailoa on that field against the Cincinnati Bengals last year after watching him be concussed in that game Sunday. I don’t give a damn what he says. I’m talking about the veracity of the words coming out of his mouth. I just don’t believe a damn thing he says.”
Welp.

Smith is placing a lot of the blame for Tagovailoa’s concussion situation on McDaniel, there’s no doubt about it.
While there’s plenty of blame to go around, it seems unfair to strictly eviscerate McDaniel.
Hopefully, the Dolphins do everything in their power this season to keep Tagovailoa healthy.
