The Dolphins selected Deiter with a third-round pick in the 2019 draft. He began his career as a starting left guard, but has since bounced around to multiple offensive line positions.
He started eight games at center for the Dolphins in 2021, but did not notch a single start through his 17 games in 2022.
In Houston, Deiter will compete with Scott Quessenberry for the starting center position. The Texans also traded with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for starting right guard Shaq Mason on Monday.
Texans GM Nick Caserio and the front office have been making moves so far this offseason. The team has already added running back Devin Singletary and tight end Dalton Schutlz in free agency, and traded wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the Dallas Cowboys.
