Earlier this year, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk said the Miami Dolphins wanted to make a run at Tom Brady. Well, yet another reporter has released a similar story this week.
According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, the seven-time Super Bowl champion actually had interest in joining the Dolphins this offseason.
“There was the Mike Florio report that Brady and Sean Payton were planning to team up in Miami,” Volin said. “I know that’s true because I heard it independently, and I know I heard it from a different source than Mike Florio heard.”
Even though Brady reportedly had interest in joining forces with Sean Payton in Miami, there’s no guarantee he’d go to the Dolphins to be their quarterback.
Volin stated that Brady wanted to help run the front office for the Dolphins.
“Brady was not going to go to Miami necessarily to be the quarterback,” Volin added. “He was going to be Derek Jeter. He was going to team up with Payton and run the Dolphins.”

A potential pairing of Brady and Payton in Miami would’ve been really interesting.
At the end of the day, Brady ultimately returned to the Bucs for another season. Payton, meanwhile, is enjoying life away from the gridiron.
