Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had at least two documented concussions this season which led him to miss five total games including the playoffs.
And even though the QB desperately wanted to get back on the field, he says the team made sure to prioritize his health.
Telling USA Today:
For concussion protocol, I think the team did me the biggest service throughout that. They never allowed me to go through protocol normally until the season was done. So that’s why it might have seemed like it took forever, but they were just protecting me from myself … me and my family are very thankful to the Dolphins.
Tagovailoa’s 2022 had some wondering if he should even continue his football career; given the amount of head injuries he suffered in such a short period of time.
The Dolphins reportedly prepare to go forward with Tua as the starter next season. Hopefully, he can avoid any similar injuries in the years to come.
