Tua Tagovailoa Reacts To Dolphins’ Offseason Moves

April 15, 2022 by The Spun

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa injured.

With a slew of offensive acquisitions made by the Miami Dolphins this offseason, the pressure on third-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is at an all-time high.

If Tua is unable to succeed with a brand new offense featuring Tyreek Hill, Cedrick Wilson, Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert, it may be time for the Dolphins to move on from their former No. 5 overall pick.

During a recent appearance on The Fish Talk podcast, Tagovailoa addressed the added pressure that comes with these offseason acquisitions.

“I think pressure is everywhere, especially in any professional industry,” Tagovailoa said, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “You’re either going to make use of this opportunity with the guys we have or you’re not. That’s what it is. I’m looking forward to making use of this opportunity.”

In his first two NFL seasons, fans and analysts cut Tagovailoa some slack due to his less-than-stellar receiving corps. But now that he boasts one of the best wide receiver units in the league featuring Hill, Wilson and rising-star Jaylen Waddle, the NFL world expects marked improvement from the 24-year-old QB.

“I guess the only word that can describe that is exciting,” Tagovailoa added when asked about his buffed receiving corps. “It’s exciting times for all of us. Aside from guys we have acquired, it’s going to take work from all of us. We’ve got to do the most important thing why we’re here, which is just win games.”
